What is care rota software?

Care rota software builds and runs the schedule of care visits — who visits which client, when, and for how long. Wendry generates the rota from each client's recurring pattern, checks every assignment against overlaps, travel time, availability and approved leave, and shows the live day as visits move from scheduled to in progress to completed.

How does rota software prevent double-booking?

Every assignment runs through one set of checks — overlap, minimum gap between visits, maximum carers per client, blacklist, approved leave and availability — inside a single transaction, so two coordinators can't book the same carer at once. When automatic generation hits a clash it never silently double-books: it creates the visit unassigned, names the conflict, and alerts the office. We call that failing open.

What is electronic call monitoring?

Electronic call monitoring is the record of whether each planned visit actually happened, on time. Wendry checks visits every five minutes: fifteen minutes past the start with no clock-in raises a late alert to the carer and the office, and thirty minutes past the end raises a missed-visit alert. The grid flags a missed visit whatever your notification settings.

Can it handle recurring visits and complex rotas?

Yes. You set a client's pattern once — daily, weekly, fortnightly or four-weekly, with different carers and times per day — and a scheduler materialises the visits across a rolling two-week window. Editing a rule regenerates the affected visits, and you choose whether a change applies to one visit, all future visits, or up to a date.

What happens when a carer calls in sick or goes on leave?

You reassign their visits in one action — this visit only, everything until they're back, up to a date, or split as alternating-week shared care. When annual leave is approved, every clashing visit is unassigned in one transaction and stamped with the reason, so the gap explains itself and the office can arrange cover days ahead.

Is every change to the rota recorded?

Yes. Every create, move, reassignment and cancellation is audited with who did it, what changed and why — down to each row inside a cascade — and surfaced in a plain-English, filterable view. It is the honest paper trail inspectors and registered managers expect.
